Generate Reviews: What To Include On Customer Review Takeaways

In order to learn what their customers think about their products and services or to simply generate a great rating, many companies are starting to direct their customers to online review sites such as Google+ Local in order to leave feedback on their experience.

Online review sites are extremely popular today, and companies know the value of a decent rating on these sites can help them generate more business. In order to get customers to leave reviews about their business, certain companies are creating review takeaways for their patrons. These takeaways are generally small pieces of paper (a business card or small sell sheet) that includes information on where customers can go to leave their feedback.

If you are interested in creating a review site takeaway for your customers, the following is the pertinent information you need to include.

Call to Action

Make sure that the takeaway has a clear call to action on it so that your customers remember what the sheet or business card is for. You can always thank them for being such great customers and ask them to please review your site at the specific website. This way, if they toss the card in their pocket and find it a few days later, they’ll remember which company they’re supposed to review.

Review Site URL

Sure your customers can easily type the online review site’s name into Google and be taken to the site, but it’s much easier on your customer to have the URL in their hand. Make sure that the name of the site and its URL can be found on the takeaway. If you have a custom URL to lead your customer to your direct page, be sure to provide that URL on the takeaway so that your customer doesn’t have to scour the site looking for your company.

Directions

If the review site is not easy to navigate, you may want to include a few basic directions to help your customer get started. For example, you may want to point out that they would have to first create their own account if it’s required by the review site. You can always tell them how exactly to leave a review by being specific. Tell them “click the ‘Leave Review’ button on the right-hand side of the page”, or whatever specific details are needed. The easier you make the process, the more likely they’ll be to leave a review.

Suggestions

Some customers may be hesitant to leave a review because they’re unsure of what to write. Help them overcome writer’s block by giving them some suggestions. For example, restaurants can encourage patrons to write about the food, the service, the atmosphere or even the price. Other businesses can ask the customer to review the product or service that was purchased and the service they experienced. These suggestions can easily help your customers determine what information they want to share about their experience with your company.

Incentive

You can always get your customers to leave a review by adding an incentive to the takeaway. For example, let them know that if they email you a copy of their review, you will send them a coupon (or other incentive) to thank them for their time.
