The Busy Mom’s Solution for Blogging Spam

If you’ve recently been blogging or you have been blogging for quite some time using WordPress you have probablyNo Comment Spam encountered your fair share of spam. Spam comments can be quite time consuming especially if you have to go through each one. The following are three solutions where you can the spam on your blog without taking too much time.

The first solution would be to not accept comments at all. You simply get a plugin that will disable all your comments such as Disable Comments that will turn off comments to your entire site. The advantage is you won’t have to deal with checking on comments saving you lots of time in the long run and simply concentrate on putting out valuable content.

The disadvantage is you will not know how valuable your content really is to your readers. One way for you to get feedback is by having your readers interact with you on your blog. It has become more essentials these days that you have a social presence more than ever. Why not allow your readers to socialize with you on your own blog?

So the next best thing is to have an anti-spam plugin such as Akismet. Now Akismet will require that you get an API in order for it to work on your site. In addition if your site it for commercial use you will be required to purchase the service. You especially want to use Akismet if you are using Jetpack.

If you prefer a standalone plugin then you may consider a premium plugin where you pay once and install it on your WordPress blog. Once such plug in is called Anti-Spam Pro this way you have total control and you are not paying monthly service fees.

If you are in a pinch and need a quick solution to your spam as well as trackbacks then AtiSpamBee  is a great solution. I have used this for over a year and I can say I have been very satisfied with its interaction and it really does help in saving loads of time dealing with spam comments.

I recently started using Disqus and I notice that it certainly keeps spam comments away. In addition it allows you to interact and be social with your readers. Watch the video below from my friend Carol Amato, who was the one who introduced me to Disqus. She offers excellent tips on why it is a great plugin to handle your comments that are sure to benefit your overall blogging success.
